The throat chakra 8

Your throat chakra is the 5th of the major chakras in your body and it has an enormous influence on everything to do with self-expression. For example, in areas like communication skills, creative expression and how you relate to others, which in turn has knock-on effects for your overall confidence and self-esteem.

A perfectly functioning throat chakra is awesome for helping you express your true self and is crucial to being a naturally confident person who is comfortable being who they are.

If you happen to develop imbalances in this magnificent chakra, it can lead to negative issues such as poor self expression, learning disabilities, poor self image, speech impediments or even more nasty things like doubt, anxiety and uncertainty.

In this article we want to talk about several things you can do to heal and nourish your throat chakra.

Modifying Your Environment To Heal Your Throat Chakra

You can start off by adding calming shades of different colors like blue, turquoise or even aqua to your home and wardrobe, as your throat chakra responds strongly to the color blue. Blue as a color has a certain innate vibration that resonates with your throat chakra and helps it to vibrate more fully.

Some specific things you can modify in your home are:

a) your house curtains
b) pillows and sheets in the lounge or bedroom
c) rugs and blankets in different parts of the home
d) all soets of clothing like shirts, skirts, socks, jackets, jeans.

You could even consider investing in an art piece or a painting that is primarily blue and putting it up in a prime location in your home. Simple changes like these can be enough to begin activating more throat chakra power right away!

Using Gemstones To Activate

Besides that, you could also think about trying out gemstones that are bluish in color. Particular gemstones which are incredibly useful are things like turquoise, blue opal,  fluorite,  blue topaz, or blue lace agate which will begin healing your throat chakra almost immediately.

If you’re on a budget though, we would recommend trying out at least blue topaz or blue opal as those cover most bases and have good all-round energy effects. Let’s talk about these two in a bit more detail now.

Blue Topaz

Blue topaz is a brilliant shade of turquoise (though some stones can be a light bluish) and it’s extremely calming to your body and mind, as well as have a soothing, inspiring and uplifting effect. This stone promotes harmony within the home and also helps you to become a better emotional problem-solving, so it can help sort out muddled feeling and ideas you’re getting inside. It also helps you to verbally express your feelings and clear your emotions.

Blue topaz is a good gemstone for expressing truth, honesty, decency, openness and forgiveness. All of these are qualities associated with a higher state of consciousness. It effectively helps to open up new vibrational pathways in the subconscious mind and chakra system.

Blue Opal

Blue opal’s strengths, on the other hand, are healing properties that strengthen love and the ability to communicate what’s in the deepest part of your heart. It promotes strong connections in relationships so its a great way to truly connect to others and get more joy and happiness in your relationships. This stone also helps to sooth erratic emotions like blue topaz, and has a calming effect on the mind and body.

Using Them Together

If you use blue opal and topaz together, they can work wonders on your throat chakra! To use them, place them somewhere noticeable in the home as a decoration, like in a bowl or vase specifically for them. Another thing you can try is to hold them in your hand for at least 20 minutes each day, which is a more “hands-on” type of approach to getting their benefits. You can even make these stones into beautiful jewelry pieces and wear them everywhere you go!

Sorting Out Eating Habits

Another great tool to help your throat chakra is to improve your eating habits. The throat chakra responds best to healthy liquids and things that are naturally made without artificial things in them (like artificial sweeteners or additives which are found in a lot of liquids today). This really means sticking to natural liquids like water, herbal teas and fruit juices. Other things like lemon, lime, kiwi and grapefruit will also break down impurities with their acids. Even tree-grown fruits, like all of our favorites like apples, pears, peaches, plums and apricots will all balance out the throat chakra. Another thing to try is to add in some simple spices, like salt and lemongrass to any meal or shake.

One thing that some aren’t aware of is that the throat chakra is very sensitive to smells, so surrounding yourself with floral essences and oils is a great idea. This can be in the form of bath gels and/or incense sticks. You could even try things like sage, cosmos, larch, blue chamomile, hyssop, trumpet vine or geranium. The smells will soothe and calm your throat chakra and the healing properties will wash away the impurities.

Being Creative To Heal The Throat Chakra

The last thing we have for you today is that being creative is great for the throat chakra! To help activate this area, there are so many creative things you could try – you could think about  putting a family album together from photos you’ve collected over the years, or signing up to act in a play, filmmaking, painting, designing things in photoshop, creating your own music or even dancing! All of these creative expressions are extremely  healthy for this chakra and they are enjoyable, as well. A positive side effect is that some of these allow you to have the chance to meet new and exciting people and the more you express yourself socially, the healthier your throat chakra will be even more.

So there you have it!

If you start to follow all of the recommended treatments you should begin to feel more balanced and more together very very soon.

Good luck!

Thank you – this is very helpful. I have had a blue fluorite octahedron necklace pendant for a short while, as everyone who is sensitive to the chakras tells me my throat chakra is weak. I think it has got stronger, but there is still a way to go.
